Job summary

H&R Block seeks a seasonal Tax Associate to work in-person at a local tax office. You’ll gather client information, prepare tax returns, and answer questions with training from day one. You’ll earn an hourly wage and have opportunities to increase earnings as tax knowledge grows.

No prior tax experience is required; you’ll gain essential client-service skills and build relationships while supporting office goals during tax season.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course.
• Experience interacting with customers in a service environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly.
• Problem-solving skills: organizing information and finding solutions.
• Comfort with digital tools and AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations clients can understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and answer questions.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork.
