Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is hiring a Seasonal Tax Associate for an in-person, office-based role in Mississippi. You’ll meet with clients, gather tax information, prepare returns with guidance, and explain findings clearly while identifying potential tax savings opportunities.

You’ll work 15–35 hours per week, with up to 40 hours during peak tax season, and receive training and support from day one in a collaborative, client-first environment.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI tools like Copilot and ChatGPT
• High school diploma / GED/ equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach
