Job summary

H'R Block is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to join our local tax office. You will meet with clients, gather information, prepare tax returns with training from experienced teammates, and explain tax concepts clearly.

This in-person role offers training and the chance to develop client-service skills while earning an hourly rate. No prior tax experience is required; you’ll receive support from day one and have potential to increase earnings as your tax knowledge grows during the season.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H'R Block Income Tax Course or equivalent training.
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs.
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations so clients can understand.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance.
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork and a client-first approach.
