Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to work in-person at a local tax office. You’ll meet clients, gather information, and prepare tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.

You will explain tax information clearly, identify savings opportunities, and build strong client relationships. No prior tax experience is required; training is provided, and some evenings/weekends may be available during peak tax season.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; completion of H&R Block Income Tax Course preferred.
• Experience interacting with customers in a service environment.
• Strong communication and ability to explain information clearly.
• Problem-solving skills and ability to organize information.
• Comfort with digital tools and AI-based tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
• Availability to work 15–35 hours per week, with peak periods up to 40 hours.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach
