Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is hiring a seasonal Tax Associate to start a career in tax and client services, with training and support from day one. You will meet with clients to gather information, prepare tax returns, and answer questions at a local H&R Block tax office.

No prior tax experience is required. You’ll learn to identify tax savings opportunities, explain tax information clearly, and build strong client relationships while supporting office priorities through teamwork and a client-first

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions
• Comfort using digital tools and systems including AI-based tools
• High school diploma / GED/ equivalent
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
• Experience in client-facing roles
• Availability to work 15–35 hours per week and up to 40 hours during peak periods
• Evenings and weekends during tax season availability

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork and a client-first approach
