Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a Seasonal Tax Associate to join a local tax office in Maryland. You’ll meet with clients, gather information, and prepare returns with training from experienced teammates.

No prior tax experience is required; you’ll learn to explain tax information clearly, identify savings opportunities, and build strong client relationships while working in-person during tax season. Hours may include evenings and weekends during peak periods.

Qualifications

• Completed H&R Block Income Tax Course or equivalent tax training.
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service environment.
• Strong communication skills, including clear explanations and asking questions.
• Problem-solving abilities, including organizing information and finding solutions.
• Comfort using digital tools and AI-based systems such as Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates.
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in an understandable way.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and suggest relevant products and services.
• Address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources.
