Job summary

Honkamp, P.C. seeks a Tax Assembler to join during peak tax season. You will assemble completed tax returns, scan work papers, and support administration using firm software, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.

Responsibilities include handling tax correspondence, scanning documents, labeling supplies, and assisting with miscellaneous projects in a collaborative office environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft 365.
  • Prolonged periods of working on a computer and ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in a shared office environment with moderate noise levels.
  • Occasional listing of items up to 10-15 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Assembling completed tax returns and tax correspondence (e.g., notices) in accordance with firm standards.
  • Scanning source documents and tax workpapers for tax returns.
  • Using firm software programs to move tax jobs through firm processes.
  • Scanning signed forms to document management system (e.g. 8879’s).
  • Assisting with inventory of assembly supplies.
  • Pre-labeling assembly supplies as needed.
  • Assisting with miscellaneous administrative projects.

A Typical Day in the Life:

As a tax assembler, you will assemble completed tax returns, scan work papers and other forms and serve as backup for miscellaneous administration projects.

Responsibilities may include:
  • Assemblingcompleted tax returns and tax correspondence (ex: notices) in accordance with firm standards.
  • Scanning source documents and tax workpapers for tax returns.
  • Using firm software programs to move tax jobs through firm processes.
  • Scanning signed forms to document management system (i.e. 8879’s).
  • Assisting with inventory of assembly supplies.
  • Pre-labeling assembly supplies as needed.
  • Assisting with miscellaneous administrative projects.
