Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking an Experienced Tax Professional for a seasonal, in-person role at a local tax office. You will prepare complete returns for individuals and businesses, interview clients to understand changes in finances, and offer personalized tax-saving recommendations.

Qualifications

• Completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping, including individual and business returns.
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative or advisory role.
• Strong verbal and written communication, able to explain tax concepts clearly.
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations (individuals and businesses).
• Conduct client interviews to understand financial situations and tax implications, providing clear recommendations.
• Build trusted client relationships and identify tax savings opportunities and relevant H&R Block products.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed.
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment.
