Job summary

City of Pueblo is seeking a Temp Sports Leader to oversee and execute sports programs with a strong focus on safety, supervision, and participant engagement at assigned sites. This non-exempt, temporary role emphasizes creating a fun, structured environment while enforcing rules and coordinating activities under supervision of the Recreation Supervisor and/or Coordinator.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of operations, services, and activities of an assigned program area.
• Knowledge of recreation, sports, and youth/teen/adult programming.
• Knowledge of appropriate staff supervision skills.
• Ability to oversee, coordinate and implement programs in assigned areas.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement weekly program of activities.
• Direct supervision of all staff at site with daily guidance and evaluations.
• Manage participants and maintain safety and order.
• Umpiring, officiating, and game time management for youth/adult sports.
• Attend staff meetings and mandatory training.
• Ensure accurate attendance records and data on participants and employees.
• Maintain equipment and facilities and track inventories.
