Job summary

City of Brooklyn Park is seeking a Seasonal Special Events Assistant to support on-site operations for weddings, golf outings, galas and community celebrations. The role collaborates with the Edinburgh Events Supervisor to ensure smooth event execution and safety.

The position requires a high school diploma, customer service or events experience, and a valid driver’s license. Shifts are up to 20 hours weekly with weekend availability, offering competitive hourly pay and full city benefits for

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience in special events or customer service.
Current driver’s license by start date.
Fluent in English; both spoken and written.

Responsibilities

Support on-site operations for each special event.
Uphold standards and regulations for vendors and customers.
Communicate respectfully with attendees and vendors; resolve disputes.
Set up/take down of events including tents, tables, chairs, and equipment.
Monitor room temperatures and cleanliness; light snow/ice maintenance may occur.
Coordinate with vendors and hosts on expectations and facility details.
Lock/unlock facilities and prepare spaces.
Ensure a safe work environment; perform other duties as assigned.
