Job summary

GovFirst is seeking a dependable Seasonal Snowplow Operator – CDL Driver (On-Call) to support winter maintenance in Toms Brook, VA. You will operate snowplow trucks and related equipment, perform inspections, and stay in close contact with supervisors during winter events.

Required: Valid CDL Class A or B and the ability to respond on short notice. You must work day or night shifts, including holidays, and be able to endure cold, icy conditions.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL, Class A or B.
• Experience operating snowplow trucks or similar heavy vehicles preferred.
• Ability to respond on short notice and work extended shifts.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Responsibilities

• Operate snowplow trucks and winter equipment to remove snow and apply de-icing materials.
• Perform safe plowing during heavy snow, ice, and precipitation.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment.
• Maintain communication with supervisors about route conditions and updates.
• Respond on-call during and after snow events, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Shifts: Day and Night Shifts - 8 AM to 8 PM and 8 PM to 8 AM

GovFirst is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Seasonal Snowplow Operator – CDL Driver (On-Call) to support winter maintenance operations in Toms Brook,VA.

The successful candidate is responsible for:

• Operate snowplow trucks and assigned winter maintenance equipment to remove snow and apply de-icing materials to roadways.
• Perform safe and efficient plowing operations during winter weather events, including heavy snow, ice, and mixed precipitation.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicles and equipment.
• Maintain communication with supervisors regarding route conditions, weather conditions, and operational updates.
• Respond on an on-call basis during and after snow events, including daytime, nighttime, weekends, and holidays.
• Support roadway snow removal, de-icing, and clearing operations to maintain safe and accessible roadways.
• Follow all required safety standards, traffic control procedures, and operational requirements.
• Operate assigned vehicles and equipment safely in cold, icy, and extreme weather conditions.
• Perform other winter maintenance duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

• Valid CDL, Class A or Class B.
• Previous experience operating snowplow trucks or similar heavy vehicles preferred.
• Ability to respond to winter storms and operational needs on short notice.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts.
• Ability to work outdoors in cold, icy, and extreme weather conditions for extended periods.
• Strong commitment to safe vehicle and equipment operation.
• Ability to follow instructions, communicate effectively with supervisors, and work as part of a winter operations team.

Required Work Authorization:

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
