Job summary

The Hawai’i Conservation Alliance & Foundation is seeking Seasonal Avian Technicians for a seabird recovery project on Kaua‘i. The role involves collecting, rehabilitating, and releasing native seabirds, primarily during the fallout season.

Technicians will work four 10-hour days a week, assisting with various tasks including monitoring behavior, data entry, and general maintenance of rehabilitation spaces. The role provides a unique opportunity to engage with diverse Hawaiian wildlife.

Salary is $19/hr, with medical benefits after one month. Applicants must email their resume and cover letter by June 30th.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of comparable experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record required.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Collect seabirds from aid stations island-wide.
• Assist in rehabilitation operations and monitor seabird behavior.
• Perform cleaning and maintenance of rehabilitation areas.
