Job summary

Timbers Kaua‘i at Hōkūala is seeking a wildlife monitor to conduct on-ground biological assessments, predator control, and incident responses in coordination with the Kauai DOFAW and project biologists. The role covers field operations, data collection, and safety compliance in a dynamic outdoor setting.

The position collaborates with the Wildlife Biologist and Avian Tech II, ensuring accurate reporting and adherence to permits while protecting native species and aligning with company policies

Qualifications

  • Six months of experience conducting similar wildlife monitoring or a related college degree.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Nene and waterbird surveys as directed by the Wildlife Biologist and Program Biologist.
  • Document and recover injured protected species and transport to the Kauai Humane Society.
  • Document and retrieve any dead protected species, prepare incident reports and notify the Wildlife Biologist and project team.
  • Assist Wildlife Biologist or Avian Tech II to build, install and maintain fencing or barriers to protect protected species.
  • Monitor golf, groundskeeping and construction activities to ensure they do not threaten protected species and comply with company policy.
  • Contribute to safety standards and follow program procedures; operate equipment as required.
