Hais seeks a Head Coach for Varsity Sailing at the High School level in Hawaii. You will develop student-athletes, create practice schedules, recruit and mentor staff, and collaborate with the Athletic Department to maintain a competitive program.

This temporary, seasonal role ends at season’s close. The Head Coach will supervise program staff, evaluate athletes, and oversee safety and compliance with ILH/HHSAA rules. CPR/First Aid certified preferred.

Qualifikationen

• Must hold or be willing to obtain CPR/First Aid/AED certification.
• Preferred: proven experience as a successful and motivating head coach with excellent communication skills.

Aufgaben

• Develop student-athletes through safe and effective drills, skills, strategies, and lesson planning.
• Motivate and support student-athletes using positive reinforcement.
• Provide off-season training opportunities to improve individual and team performance.
• Track daily attendance and communicate with student-athletes and parents regarding absences.
• Monitor athlete eligibility per Mid-Pacific, ILH, and HHSAA regulations.
• Maintain and secure all equipment; report any broken or unsafe items to the Athletic Department.
• Assist with issuing and returning team uniforms and equipment.
• Monitor academic performance to support student success.
• Communicate team equipment and supply needs to the Athletic Department.
• Recruit, train, and oversee all coaches in the Sailing program, in collaboration with the Athletic Director.
