Job summary

Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans) is hiring seasonal Transportation Operations Technicians to support highway maintenance and winter operations in E Dorset. This hands-on role involves repairing guardrails, patching pavement, ditching, clearing brush, and litter collection.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of manual labor, construction, equipment operation, or related manual labor experience.
• CDL required; Class A with Tanker Endorsement to be obtained within six months of employment.
• Class B CDL is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform highway maintenance tasks: repairing guardrails, patching pavement, ditching, brush clearing, and litter collection.
• Assist with plowing and salting during winter weather events and respond to emergencies as needed.
• Work overtime and reporting to assigned workstations, with safety around traffic and heavy equipment in all seasons.
