Job summary

Northwest Medical Center in Tucson is seeking a Seasonal RN for Med-Surg. This 13- or 26-week assignment is a Day Shift position with 3 twelve-hour shifts per week and a fast-paced unit with a 6:1 patient ratio.

The RN provides client-centered care using the nursing process, collaborates with neurology specialists, and adheres to clinical protocols while ensuring patient safety and family education.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in a clinical nursing role in an acute care setting.
• RN - Registered Nurse licensure required or compact state licensure.
• BCLS certification required; ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with policies and the nursing process.
• Accept and document patient assessments, monitor changes, and report to the care team.
• Administer medications, monitor for side effects, and document administration.
• Assist physicians during procedures within competency scope and collaborate on care plans.
• Provide patient and family education and ensure safety and infection control standards.
