Job summary

The Works is seeking a Seasonal Retail Sales Assistant to join during the Christmas period. You will welcome customers, help them find gifts from our festive ranges and provide exceptional service to create magical shopping experiences.

This 8 hour contract offers a chance to become part of our merry crew, with perks like a 25% colleague discount and the opportunity to explore longer-term opportunities when permanent roles arise.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Able to stay active during busy seasonal periods.
• Physically capable of stocking and lifting, with an eye for merchandising.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers and recommend gifts from festive ranges.
• Replenish stock, manage deliveries and price products.
• Follow planograms and create an inviting, well-merchandised store floor.
• Support a positive, energetic store environment during the holiday period.

Become a Seasonal Retail Sales Assistant

As a Seasonal Sales Assistant, you'll join our merry crew and help make this holiday season the best one yet! This Christmas, you'll be at the heart of creating magical shopping experiences. From helping customers find the perfect present to uncovering festive treats they didn't know they needed, you'll bring energy, enthusiasm and exceptional service to every interaction.

You’ll confidently welcome customers into the store, start conversations, understand who they're shopping for, and recommend gifts and products from our amazing Christmas ranges to help make their festive season extra special.

We have lots of deliveries and seasonal stock to manage. The role can be physically demanding and hard work - you'll need to be physically comfortable managing stairs and heavy stock, but our supportive team will be there to lend a helping hand!

Being a Brand Ambassador

As a Seasonal Sales Assistant, you'll be a Brand Ambassador for The Works, helping to create the magical Christmas shopping experience our customers love. Whether you're welcoming customers into store, helping them find the perfect gift, or recommending products they'll love, you'll represent our brand with pride in every interaction.

Your Festive Mission

• Excite and Delight: Spread joy with your friendly service and inspire customers to read, learn, create, or play with our magical products!
• Loyalty Ambassador: Jingle all the way as you help customers to craft a Christmas well spent and know they can get more bang for their money at The Works – they’ll thank you with bells on!
• Merchandising Marvel: Unwrap your creative flair by following our planograms for key product areas. And when you have the freedom, let your creativity dance like snowflakes in non-planogrammed spaces to catch the eye!
• Deliveries: Become a puzzle-master as you manage heavy deliveries, price & label products like a pro, sort items onto shop floor displays, and make sure the stockroom is as snug as a Christmas stocking!
• Have fun! Be your best, authentic elf-self and embrace the opportunity to connect with our brand, colleagues, and customers. Have a jolly good time making the store a twinkling wonderland to visit and work!
