Job summary

Methodist Dallas Medical Center in Dallas, TX seeks a Registered Nurse to provide professional nursing care in the Labor & Delivery unit. The position supports patient care using the nursing process and collaborates with a dedicated team to promote safety and excellent outcomes.

Hours are 1845-0715 with variable days and a PRN shift. Requires 2+ years L&D RN experience, Texas license or eligibility, and current BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Basic Life Support Certification.
• Current license to practice nursing in Texas or eligibility to do so.
• At least 2 years L&D RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to hospital standards and promotes a cooperative work environment through communication and teamwork.
• Assumes responsibility for the nursing components of the patient/family educational process.
• Communicates with the team, coworkers, patients, and family members and ensures understanding of information.
• Creates and maintains a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, staff, and facility.
• Ensures complete, accurate, and timely written communication of patient information.
• Provides safe, accurate, and timely medication and IV administration.
• Takes personal responsibility for performance, professional growth and development.
• Utilizes the nursing process to ensure quality patient care throughout the episode of care.
• Other duties as assigned.
