Job summary

City of Delray Beach is seeking a Recreation Supervisor in the Parks and Recreation Department. This role plans, coordinates, supervises a range of recreational activities for ages from preschool to seniors and oversees staff on site.

You will maintain safety, conduct drills and participate in special events, including holiday and parade activities, while driving a recreation van when required and reporting to the Parks and Recreation leadership.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED certification.
• At least 2 years of verifiable supervisory experience in childcare, recreation programming or related field.
• AA Degree or higher; One year of supervisory experience in related or unrelated field.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and supervise recreational activities, games, programs and events for diverse age groups.
• Supervise a group of participants indoors and outdoors, including individuals with special needs.
• Maintain a safe environment and complete incident reports as required.
• Conduct crisis response drills, fire drills, and emergency preparedness procedures.
• Foster positive employee relations and morale across the city.
• Operate recreation van for field trips as needed.
• Work four mandatory special events (July 4th, Tree Lighting, Holiday Parade, St Patrick's Parade).
