Job summary

Working evenings, nights, and weekends is required for special events. The ideal candidate has an associate degree or two years of college in recreation, plus several years of supervisory experience, and a valid Florida driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or two years of college in a recreation study field.
• Three years of professional, verifiable experience in recreation programs and supervision of staff.
• Must possess and maintain a Florida Driver's License with a good driving record.
• Must obtain CPR, AED, and First Aid Certification within 30 days of hire.
• Knowledge of Logic Pro 10 for positions assigned to 505 Teen Center Recording Studio.

Responsibilities

• Teaches, supervises, organizes, and instructs recreation activities and sports for youth, teens, adults.
• Trains, schedules and supervises designated staff and volunteers.
• Assists with special events, recreation programs and sporting events.
• Must work four mandatory special events on holidays and weekends.
• Coordinates and promotes events, advertising, and vendor coordination.
• Promotes program publicity through flyers and social media.
• Ensures facilities and equipment are used properly.
• Records registrations and payments electronically.
• Promotes safety and enforces laws and regulations.
• Transports participants by passenger van when required.
• Appropriate to work nights and weekends as needed.
• Develops relationships with parents and supports children or adults with special needs.
• Responds to medical emergencies and maintains professional conduct.
• Fosters positive employee relations and morale city-wide.
• Adheres to Palm Beach County Ethics and Florida Statutes 112.313.
