Job summary

City of Madison, Alabama is seeking seasonal staff to assist across city gymnasiums, fields, courts, pools, and facilities. Responsibilities include securing facilities, supervising activities, and assisting with events and registrations. Must be dependable, able to work nights/weekends, and willing to drive.

Minimum age 17+, high school diploma or GED preferred; CPR/First Aid certification and strong teamwork skills are expected. Temporary status with no benefits for some roles.

Qualifications

• Reading skills to understand written instructions.
• CPR/First Aid certification and skills.

Responsibilities

• Check and secure all building doors/windows, and ensure lights are on/off as needed.
• Report damage to facilities, fields or grounds to supervisor for repair.
• Observe activities for safety and investigate suspicious behavior.
• Supervise courts/fields/camps to ensure patrons act appropriately.
• Keep facilities clean; perform light maintenance and setup equipment for activities.
• Assist with registrations and collect fees when required.
• Supervise activities to ensure safety of participants.
• Support special projects within the Recreation Department.
