Job summary

The Colorado Parks and Wildlife division, part of the State of Colorado, is seeking a Property Technician for a temporary 9-month assignment in Rio Blanco County. The role supports daily maintenance of Wildlife Areas, weed control, and equipment operation, with a 40-hour workweek and outdoor duties in varied weather.

Starting May 15, 2026 and ending September 1, 2026, the position involves assisting wildlife managers, data recording, and community interactions with hunters and anglers.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Must have a current and valid driver’s license or reliable transportation.
• Must be able to work outdoors in varied weather conditions.
• Must be able to lift 50-100 pounds repeatedly.
• Willingness to work 40 hours per week and varied shifts.
• Preference for candidates pursuing Natural Resources or related education.
• Ability to work with limited supervision and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in daily maintenance and improvement of State Wildlife Areas in Rio Blanco County.
• Perform noxious weed control and general facility/equipment maintenance.
• Repair and construct fences and perform related tasks.
• Operate and maintain vehicles, ATVs, skid steers, excavators, tractors, power tools, and chainsaws.
• Record data and maintain logs; interact with hunters and anglers; support wildlife management tasks.
