San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital in California is seeking an Environmental Services Assistant to perform cleaning and related duties in patient rooms, offices, and other areas to maintain a clean, sanitary, and aesthetically pleasing environment for facility customers.

The role requires understanding the needs of patients across the life-span, strong communication, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team while following safety protocols and PPE guidelines.

Formación

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of cleaning experience in healthcare, hospitality, or related environments.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
• Able to wear PPE (mask, goggles, gloves) as needed.

• Perform cleaning duties in patient rooms, offices, and building areas to maintain a sanitary, orderly environment.
• Interact with patients and staff with sensitivity to age-related needs.
• Coordinate with leads and other sources to complete tasks efficiently and safely.

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Lead Person, performs cleaning and related duties to patient rooms, offices, and other building areas necessary to provide a clean, sanitary, orderly, and aesthetically pleasing environment for facility customer groups.

Because the EVS Assistant will have some direct contact with patients, he/she must be able to demonstrate an understanding of the needs of patients throughout the life-span (particularly psychosocial and emotional) and interact with patients and others accordingly.

REQUIREMENTS

Previous acute care hospital cleaning experience preferred. High School graduate or equivalent. Minimum 1 year of cleaning experience in healthcare, hospitality, or high volume related environments. Good communication skills required with the ability to understand both oral and written instructions. Able to wear personal protective equipment (e.g., face mask, goggles, and latex/non A latex gloves) as needed. Ability to work effectively within role independently and with other team members; read, write and effectively communicate in English. Proven ability to organize time and tasks; to work within multiple departments, receiving direction from multiple sources. Able to establish and maintain good working relationships. Proficient in using the internet.
