Job summary
CHAI is seeking a Program Assistant and Medic based in New Milford, CT, for a seasonal position from August 20 to November 20, 2025. This role involves ensuring the health and safety of participants, managing medical supplies, and supporting program logistics at Isabella Freedman Jewish Retreat Center. Certification as an EMT, RN, or WFR is required, along with strong communication skills and the ability to work on uneven terrain. A total compensation of $7,000 is offered for the season, including shared housing and board during program weeks.
Qualifications
Must be certified as an EMT or RN or be certified as a WFR with significant field experience.
Must be able to hike up to 1.5 miles on uneven and/or steep terrain.
Genuine enthusiasm for working with children and schools.
Responsibilities
Be on site and available for response during all hours that students are on site.
Carry the emergency phone at all hours during the Teva program.
Oversee all first aid supplies, including inventory of all medical supplies.
Skills
Certified as an EMT, RN, or WFR
Experience in food allergy safety
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Excellent organizational and project management skills
Ability to work independently
