Job description

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and assist in leading staff training; build a vibrant and healthy staff culture.
  • Refine and help staff implement Teva’s curriculum of awareness, interconnectedness, and responsibility.
  • Coordinate materials requests, acquisition, and distribution; manage and organize materials inventory.
  • Lead children’s programming during Adamah holiday retreats and coordinate staff during retreats.
  • Work collaboratively with supervisors and colleagues; participate in theatrical presentations, large‑scale games, evening programming, and song sessions.
  • Participate in Shacharit (morning prayer services) and add creative educational elements; assist with development of curriculum, skits, and program materials.
  • Prepare the site for the week, including organizing program materials, set‑up, and take‑down; manage systems to ensure success of program set‑up and take‑down throughout the week.
  • Be present at all transitions and mealtimes during the Teva week; be responsive via walkie‑talkie and phone during daytime program hours with Teva Staff and School Chaperones.
  • Act as evening on‑call hospitality liaison for schools, coordinating with Guest Services staff to provide high‑quality customer service.
  • Attend weekly leadership meetings as a core member of the Teva administrative team.
Medic Responsibilities (WFR Certification+)
  • Carry the emergency phone at all hours during the Teva program, including keeping the phone on at night.
  • Oversee all first aid supplies, including inventory of all medical supplies and replenishment as necessary.
  • Support students with everyday injuries, illnesses, and tick removal.
  • Evaluate urgent and emergency medical situations.
  • Monitor students with relevant food allergies in collaboration with Teva and kitchen staff.
  • Keep detailed medical records and complete high‑quality incident reports as needed.
Qualifications
  • Genuine enthusiasm for working with children and schools, with ability to maintain a professional demeanor.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills; must be able to work as part of a close‑knit, interdependent team.
  • Excellent executive functioning, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and find solutions; ability to stay cool in a crisis and adapt to changing situations.
  • Find joy working in an immersive, highly‑collaborative, outdoor education setting.
  • Skill in photography or graphic design is a plus.
  • Medic must be certified as an EMT or RN or be certified as a WFR with significant field experience.
  • Must be able to hike up to 1.5 miles on uneven and/or steep terrain.
  • Experience in food allergy safety, monitoring, and medical response.
Compensation and Benefits

Compensation range is $7,500–$10,000 for a three‑month season depending on experience and portfolio. The Program Coordinator is provided housing in shared accommodations at Isabella Freedman Jewish Retreat Center between August 15, 2026 and December 20, 2026, as well as meals served in the dining hall during program weeks and holiday retreats.
