Job summary

Rail Events Productions is seeking a Production Assistant for THE POLAR EXPRESS Train Ride in New Orleans. You will support Production Managers with cast, crew, food service, ticketing, transportation, load-in and load-out, coordinating with train operations and third-party contractors.

The role involves a fast-paced live event environment, requires flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays, and demands attentiveness, teamwork, and strong organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Experience with special events and theatrical events.
• Valid US driver's license and ability to drive a van.
• Experience handling petty cash and writing expense reports.
• Ability to work as part of a production staff team in a fast-changing environment.
• Ability to work independently with motivation and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to anticipate, recognize and solve practical problems.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams including seasonal staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist production management during load-in and load-out with daily production needs.
• Act as runner to shop for supplies.
• Drive actors to/from remote performance sites.
• Assist in load-out to return event space to railroad standards.
• Familiarize with railroad safety rules.
• Support the event team to maintain a positive environment for staff.
• Other duties as assigned.
