Responsibilities

A Day in the Life of a Seasonal Porter/Groundkeeper:

As a Seasonal Porter/Groundkeeper, you will perform routine cleaning and grounds maintenance within a multifamily residential community. You will operate tools and equipment efficiently, communicate effectively, and deliver high-quality work safely, aligning with Liberty Military Housing’s standards of customer satisfaction.

Your Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of grounds, amenities, building exteriors, community areas, and parking lots.
• Remove trash from grounds, community areas, and homes daily.
• Clean interior and exterior areas regularly using appropriate tools (broom, mop, vacuum, rake, blower).
• Assist with snow shoveling where applicable.
• Help prepare units for occupancy, including trash removal, touch-up painting, and cleaning.
• Assist with physical tasks such as removing furniture, appliances, and tools.
• Help with repairs and replacements of fixtures like windows, doors, and lightbulbs.
• Maintain storage and shop areas.
• Support maintenance technicians as needed.
• Perform minor painting and caulking.
• Clean air conditioning vents, replace filters and smoke detectors.
• Report maintenance issues to management.
• Use tools and machinery safely and properly.
• Participate in meetings, community events, and training sessions.
• Follow OSHA safety regulations and company policies.
• Adhere to safe work practices, including Lockout/Tagout, confined space, chemical handling, PPE, ladder safety, and working at heights.

Qualifications

What You Need for Success:

• Basic understanding of groundskeeping.
• Ability to use hand and power tools and cleaning equipment.
• Effective communication skills with coworkers, managers, vendors, and residents.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a vehicle.
• Basic computer skills (PC/mobile).
• Physical ability to lift/carry up to 65 lbs, and perform physical tasks such as reaching, bending, kneeling, walking, and climbing stairs/ladders.
• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions and exposure to elements like dust, fumes, and noise.
• Ability to comply with all safety and health regulations and standards.
