Responsibilities

A Day in the Life of a Seasonal Porter/Groundkeeper:

As a Seasonal Porter/Groundkeeper, you will perform routine cleaning and grounds maintenance in a multifamily residential community. You will operate tools, machinery, and equipment efficiently, communicate effectively, and ensure safety and quality in your work, aligning with Liberty Military Housing’s standards of customer satisfaction.

Your Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

• Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of grounds, amenities, buildings, and surrounding areas.
• Remove trash from grounds, office areas, homes, and community perimeter daily.
• Clean interior and exterior areas using general cleaning tools and equipment.
• Assist with snow shoveling (if applicable).
• Help prepare units for occupancy, including trash removal, touch-up painting, and cleaning.
• Assist with physical tasks like removing furniture, tools, and appliances.
• Assist with minor repairs, replacements, and installations.
• Maintain storage and shop areas.
• Support maintenance technicians as needed.
• Perform minor painting/caulking and cleaning tasks.
• Replace air filters, clean vents, and check smoke detectors.
• Report maintenance issues to management.
• Use tools and machinery safely and properly.
• Participate in meetings, community events, and training.
• Follow OSHA safety regulations and company policies.
• Adhere to safe work practices for all trades, including lockout/tagout, confined space, chemical handling, ladder safety, and working at heights.

Qualifications

What You Need for Success:

• Basic understanding of groundskeeping.
• Ability to use hand and power tools and cleaning equipment.
• Good communication skills with co-workers, managers, vendors, and residents.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle.
• Basic computer skills (PC/mobile).
• Physical ability to lift/carry up to 65 lbs, and perform physical tasks like reaching, bending, kneeling, and climbing.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, and noise.
• Ability to comply with all safety and health regulations, including ADA and FMLA standards.

Pay Range: $15.25 Hourly
