Job summary

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources seeks Buildings & Grounds Workers for seasonal roles in the Northeast Region. duties include park maintenance, trail upkeep, and security to protect parks and visitors.

Shifts vary, potential evening/weekend hours; positions are seasonal and located across multiple Northeast locations. Applicants should be able to perform physical outdoor work, operate common equipment safely, and meet the standard qualifications for state park staff.

Qualifications

• Ability to manage work tasks effectively with limited supervision.
• Teamwork skills to help colleagues complete tasks safely and efficiently.
• Ability to welcome a diverse user base to Minnesota State Parks and Trail Units.
• Ability to recognize, analyze, communicate and problem solve routine maintenance situations.
• Skill in safe operation of equipment such as mowers, weed whips, hand and power tools, chainsaws, UTVs and vehicles.
• Ability to explain policies and procedures clearly to internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

• Building, facilities, trail and water access maintenance and repairs to keep areas safe and functional.
• Grounds maintenance including mowing, weed control, planting, trimming, and repairing trails.
• Equipment inspection and routine maintenance on small engines, vehicles, tools, and related records.
