Job summary

Sandy City is seeking a Parks worker to assist in maintenance and construction of city parks, irrigation systems, athletic fields, and recreation facilities. The role requires knowledge of tools and equipment, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work under supervision.

Position is seasonal (non-benefitted) with a 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with an open-ended duration through November and potential extension based on Department need.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of tools, machines, and equipment used in maintenance and construction of city parks, athletic fields, and recreation facilities.
• OSHA safety standards knowledge is preferred.
• Basic understanding of plant and turf life.
• Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled work related to maintenance and construction of city parks, streetscapes, sites, cemetery, and recreation facilities.
• Maintain irrigation systems and athletic fields as assigned.
• Adhere to all required standards, policies, and procedures.
• Work under supervision of Parks Division Head, Parks Supervisor and/or Crew Leaders.
