Job summary

The Municipality of Anchorage is seeking a Park Caretaker I to maintain city park lands and facilities across assigned locations. The role involves varying shifts, early morning starts, and seasonal outdoor work under general supervision.

Litter removal, turf care, trail maintenance, and event support are common duties. Required are 3 months of related maintenance experience and a valid Alaska driver’s license with a clean record.

Qualifications

• Three months experience in lawn, landscape, trails, construction, grounds, or facility maintenance.
• Must possess a valid State of Alaska Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record at time of hire.
• Employment is conditional based on a satisfactory background check.
• Capable of bending, twisting, and kneeling; able to lift and carry items weighing more than 50 pounds; able to work outdoors in inclement weather.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Municipality of Anchorage park land and facilities in a safe, usable condition.
• Winter duties include litter collection, snow & ice removal, ice maintenance, track setting, trail grooming, event preparation, and general grounds repair.
• Summer duties include turf and irrigation maintenance, litter removal, field maintenance, trail work, fence repairs, and facilities care.
