Job summary

City and Borough of Juneau is seeking Groundskeeper Assistant to perform outdoor maintenance across parks and facilities. The role involves mowing, weed whipping, pruning, mulching, planting, and general landscape tasks under supervision, with training provided for all required tools and equipment.

Work is seasonal, primarily April through September, with a 7:30 AM–3:30 PM schedule and a 37.5 hour work week.

Qualifications

• No previous experience required; training provided.
• Must be physically able to perform outdoors in varying weather.
• Ability to operate basic landscape equipment safely.
• Willingness to work five months annually.

Responsibilities

• Mow and weed control across CBJ parks and facilities.
• Weed whipping, pruning, mulching, planting, and plant care.
• Assist with greenhouse and cemetery operations as needed.
• Maintain grounds and assist with watering duties.
• Report to Landscape Supervisor and Grounds Crew Leaders.
