Job summary

The Town of Kernersville is seeking a versatile Parks Maintenance Worker to perform semi-skilled tasks across town buildings, parks and recreation areas. You will assist in grounds keeping, basic building repairs, and operate equipment under supervision.

Valid NC Driver's License is required; high school diploma preferred but not required. This position is not eligible for benefits and offers the opportunity to support community spaces and events, with a stable schedule and teamwork focus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• Valid NC Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Performs grounds keeping activities such as mowing grass, weeding, weed-eating, and mulching.
• Makes regular inspections of parks; removes leaves, empties trash, stocks and cleans restrooms; inspects for needed repairs.
• Performs building maintenance such as painting, carpentry, electrical, masonry, plumbing and roofing tasks.
• Drags, lines and sets bases for ball fields.
• Operates backhoe, front end loader, rubber tire tractor, bobcat, mowing equipment, weed eaters, leaf blowers, and edgers.
• Assists in set up for special town functions and activities
• Performs related duties as required.
