Job summary

The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission - PGC Parks and Recreation is seeking Seasonal Maintenance Workers to support park operations across NRPD. You will perform groundskeeping, custodial tasks, and basic setup for events, in outdoor and indoor settings across multiple locations.

Ideal candidates are 18+, able to perform manual labor, follow instructions, and work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Knowledge of basic maintenance and cleaning practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform general grounds maintenance, including mowing, trimming, edging, leaf removal, and litter collection.
• Assist with maintenance of athletic fields, playgrounds, trails, and landscaped areas.
• Perform basic custodial duties, including cleaning restrooms, shelters, and park facilities.
• Assist with set-up and breakdown of equipment for park programs, rentals, and special events.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and light equipment safely and properly.
• Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, and damaged equipment to supervisors.
