Job summary

Metropolitan Ministries in Tampa is seeking an Outreach Holiday Associate to support Registration on site and remote, the Holiday Tent, Metro Market, Metro Outfitters and Holiday Partner Pop-up sites during the holiday season.

The role requires working non-traditional hours including evenings, weekends and holidays; two years in social services or volunteering is required, with strong interpersonal and crisis-management skills.

Qualifications

• Requires heart for ministry and comfort working with poor and homeless families.
• Requires understanding of poverty, maturity, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work with diverse populations in crisis situations.
• Ability to deescalate clients on the edge of verbal or physical violence.
• Strong computer literacy with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to write reports and participate in meetings.
• Bi-lingual a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates Holiday Registration, Distribution, the Metro Market, Metro Outfitters and Holiday Partner Pop-up sites.
• Works with Volunteer Services to identify volunteers and partnerships to support client services; assists with training and managing volunteers.
• Ensures clients are registered and checked in through the holiday registration platform accurately and timely.
• Supports the team in other tasks as assigned and attends all team meetings.
• Participates in Metropolitan Ministries’ events and holiday efforts.
