Job summary

The Neil Jones Food Company in Vancouver, WA is seeking a Seasonal Inspector Sorter for the night shift to support our Northwest Packing plant. You will sort and inspect fruit on the production line, ensuring only quality fruit proceeds along the conveyors.

This role requires standing for long periods, ability to lift up to 5 pounds (occasional 10 pounds), and following PPE and safety procedures. Seasonal August–November with weekend requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred; not required.
• 1+ year of experience in a manufacturing or industrial facility; food industry experience preferred.
• Ability to determine a quality can by observing dents and defects.
• Ability to communicate effectively with peers or management.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and work extended schedule, weekends, and any shift assigned during the fresh pack season, typically August to November.
• Eligible for paid sick leave.

Responsibilities

• Stand at workstation for up to 7.5 hours per day.
• Observes the flow of the fruit on conveyors; removes any fruit that does not meet the minimum requirements of quality fruit.
• Requires the use of proper PPE such as waterproof shoes or boots, waterproof or chemical resistant gear (pants/jacket), safety glasses or goggles, face shield, gloves.
• Regularly lift and /or move up to 5 pounds, occasionally push up to 10 pounds along rollers.
