Job summary

The Neil Jones Food Company, based in Vancouver, WA, seeks a Seasonal Inspector Sorter to join the Northwest Packing plant for the fresh-pack season (typically August–November). You will assist on the production line, inspecting fruit, ensuring quality and safety standards are met, and working a full shift on site.

Responsibilities include standing for 7.5 hours daily, identifying defects on conveyors, using required PPE, and lifting up to 5 pounds regularly with occasional up to 10 pounds.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred; not required.
• 1+ year of experience in a manufacturing or industrial facility; food industry experience preferred.
• Ability to determine a quality can by observing dents and defects.
• Ability to communicate effectively with peers or management.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and work extended schedule, weekends, and any shift assigned during the fresh pack season.

Responsibilities

• Promotes Food Safety Culture as a priority in all situations through conversations, communications, and actions.
• Stand at workstation for up to 7.5 hours per day.
• Observes the flow of the fruit on conveyors; removes any fruit that does not meet the minimum requirements of quality fruit.
• Requires the use of proper personal protective equipment such as waterproof shoes or boots, waterproof or chemical resistant gear (pants/jacket), safety glasses or goggles, face shield, gloves.
• Regularly lift and /or move up to 5 pounds, occasionally push up to 10 pounds along rollers.
