Job summary

State of Indiana is seeking Seasonal Natural Resources Worker roles within the DNR Forestry Division in Indianapolis. The positions focus on survey, biological monitoring and conservation work across public lands.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or one year of work experience.
• May work afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• May be required to wear a DNR-provided uniform.
• May be required to travel to different properties.
• May be required to have a valid driver's license.
• May experience working with DOC work release crews.
• Work in varied environments and weather conditions.
• May work around heavy equipment (tractors, mowers, etc.).
• Some positions may require college coursework in wildlife/natural resources/forestry.
• Ability to apply basic ecological concepts and plant identification.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to sustain strenuous physical activity.
• Work with general instruction and limited supervision.
• Able to perform essential functions with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with control of invasive species and habitat restoration.
• Perform trail maintenance, signage, and timber stand improvements.
• Maintain property buildings, grounds, and facilities.
• Assist with administrative duties as needed.
