Discovery Cube in Santa Ana is seeking a friendly Interactor to engage guests with exhibits and assist with science demonstrations. The role emphasizes customer service, safety, and enthusiasm for STEM education in a dynamic, high-energy setting.

Responsibilities include leading demonstrations, supporting stage shows and field trips, and helping guests of all ages explore exhibits while learning and having fun. This is a seasonal position from November 2026 to January 2027.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; college degree preferred in Science or Education.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a fast-paced customer service environment (preferred).
• Public speaking or performance experience.
• Prior experience working with children.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.

Responsabilités

Position:

Interactors are the heart and spirit of Discovery Cube. They are responsible for interacting and engaging with a wide range of people in a very dynamic and high energy environment. Interactors will assist guests in interacting with specific exhibits and are trained on the science behind each exhibit. Interactors may also be required to perform basic science presentations to guests in the structure of tabletop facilitation or demonstrations. Interactors are required to provide friendly customer service to every guest. The Interactor will report to the Shift Lead on duty and will serve as a role model on how to use exhibits to all staff.

This is a seasonal position, anticipated to run from November 2026 through January 2027.

Responsibilities:

Interactors are responsible for providing friendly and professional interaction to both guests and staff. They are required to offer helpful and knowledgeable information about Discovery Cube and its available offerings.

Additional responsibilities include:

• Proactively engage guests while on the floor and interacting with exhibits
• Ensure all guests are having a fun and safe experience
• Understand and use the Galaxy program as needed
• Operate and use equipment as outlined in the Interactor Manual
• Lead science-based demonstrations for multiple age levels
• Assist with stage shows, field trips, birthday parties and other programs as needed

Qualifications:

Availability Requirements:

To be considered, candidates must have:

• Full weekend availability (Saturday & Sunday) for up to 8-hour shifts scheduled between 7:30 AM – 7:30 PM
• One full weekday between 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM, or 2 half-days (8:30 AM – 1:30 PM/1:00 PM – 5:30 PM)

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma required; College degree preferred (especially in Science or Education)
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a fast-paced customer service environment (preferred)
• Public speaking or performance experience
• Prior experience working with children

Skills & Knowledge

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Friendly demeanor with the ability to engage adults and children of all ages
• Must have a basic understanding of scientific concepts and a willingness to learn and teach them
• Must be a proactive, self-starter who works well independently
• Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of people
• Basic computer knowledge required (email, internet browsing); Microsoft Office skills a plus
• Knowledge of a second language is a plus (not required)
• Prior cash handling experience is a plus (not required)

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods with or without reasonable accommodation
• Ability to safely bend to turn exhibits on/off
• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 25 lbs for short periods
