Job summary

Girard College is seeking an Assistant Middle and High School Wrestling Coach to support the development and success of the wrestling program. You will assist with practices, conditioning, competitions, and student‑athlete development while promoting a positive, inclusive team culture.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree (preferred) and coaching education, with strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with staff, families, and athletes.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Previous wrestling coaching experience at the middle school, high school, collegiate, or professional level is preferred.
• Must demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills and willingness to work collaboratively with student‑athletes, families, coaches, administration, faculty, staff, and the Athletic Department.
• Complete all required PIAA coaching education requirements.
• Maintain current First Aid and CPR/AED certifications.
• Pass FBI fingerprint/background check; Pass Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance; Pass Pennsylvania Criminal History Background Check.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Wrestling Coach with practices, conditioning, competitions, student‑athlete development, equipment management, and team activities.
• Support the academic, athletic, personal, and social development of student‑athletes and foster a positive, high‑energy, inclusive environment.
• Adhere to Girard College policies and the rules of every governing athletic association.
• Attend open wrestling tryouts and assist with plans for daily practices and in‑season/off‑season conditioning.
• Assist with team transportation and equipment distribution, inventory, and care.
