Job summary

Gooding Middle School is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to assist in coaching the girls wrestling team for the upcoming season. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of wrestling techniques and strategies, along with a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive environment for young athletes.

This seasonal role offers the chance to mentor middle school athletes through wrestling, guiding practices, teaching techniques, promoting teamwork, and ensuring safety

Qualifications

• Previous wrestling experience or coaching is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of wrestling techniques, rules and strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with students, parents and staff.
• Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive environment for all team members.
• Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.

Responsibilities

• Assist head coach in planning and conducting daily practice sessions focused on skill development and conditioning.
• Provide instruction on wrestling techniques and strategies to improve performance.
• Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive team culture.
• Monitor student-athlete progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Assist in preparing for competitions: organizing travel, equipment, and ensuring policy compliance.
• Communicate with athletes, parents and staff to promote the program.
• Attend all scheduled practices, competitions and meetings.
• Help maintain a safe training environment and ensure safety protocols are followed.
• Assist in administrative tasks such as record-keeping and inventory management.
