Job summary

Gooding High School is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Assistant Girls High School Wrestling Coach for the upcoming season. This seasonal role offers an opportunity to contribute to the development of young athletes on and off the mat, emphasizing teamwork, discipline and sportsmanship.

The ideal candidate will have wrestling experience, strong communication skills, and a commitment to creating an inclusive environment for student-athletes.

Qualifications

• Previous wrestling experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of wrestling techniques, rules and strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff and parents.
• Must pass background check and obtain CPR/First Aid certification.
• Availability evenings and weekends during wrestling season.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assist head coach in planning and conducting daily practices, ensuring a safe training environment.
• Support development of athletes' technical skills, conditioning, and mental preparation.
• Organize and facilitate team meetings, practices and competitions, including transportation and logistics.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to student-athletes, encouraging personal growth and academic success.
• Collaborate with coaching staff and school personnel to promote a positive team culture and relationships with parents and community.
• Monitor athletes' progress and provide constructive feedback to improve performance.
• Assist in recruitment and retention of student-athletes, promoting wrestling participation.
• Uphold and enforce school and athletic department policies and regulations.
• Attend coaching clinics and professional development opportunities as required.
