Job summary

Mount Southington Ski Area is seeking a Mountain Room Cook for the seasonal kitchen team in Plantsville, CT. You will prepare high-quality meals for daily guests and private events, working quickly and safely in a busy indoor setting.

Responsibilities include cooking to recipes, stocking stations, and coordinating with FOH staff to ensure smooth service. Must be at least 18 and able to pass a background check, with flexibility for weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Successful completion of background check.
• Must be 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes.
• Set-up and stock stations with necessary supplies.
• Ensure food is prepared quickly and accurately during peak service times.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen prep areas.
• Monitor food quality, portion control, and presentation standards.
• Assist with inventory rotation (FIFO) and proper food storage.
• Follow all health department and food safety guidelines.
• Coordinate with kitchen and FOH staff for smooth service.
• Complete required training as assigned by mountain leadership.
• Accurately record all hours worked and resolve discrepancies before pay period end.
