Job summary

MainStreet Family Care in Wake Forest, NC is hiring a Seasonal Medical Assistant for the busy cold and flu season from October to February. You will assist in urgent and primary care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine services with a rotating schedule that includes every other weekend.

Responsibilities include room preparation, taking histories and vitals, patient education, basic clerical duties, and ensuring smooth clinic operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.).
• Prior medical assisting experience or education is beneficial but not required.
• Medical assisting cetification is not required.

We are seeking enthusiastic and friendly Medical Assistants to provide excellent care to our patients during this busy period. Responsibilities

Clinical Duties

• Prepare examination and treatment rooms with necessary instruments
• Take patient histories and vital signs
• Prepare patients for examination and treatment
• Dispense medication as directed
• Educate patients on discharge instructions, when applicable
• Handle telephone calls from clients, patients, physicians, pharmacies, and other staff
• Address patient concerns within the scope of the position

Clerical Duties

• Maintain patient records for clinical, medical, billing, and review purposes
• Assist with scheduling tests and treatments
• Complete opening and closing procedures

Other Duties

• Maintain disposable and non-disposable supplies
• Assist with annual training as needed
• Help produce and maintain patient education materials
• Keep work and treatment areas clean and professional
• Accept and handle special projects as assigned
• Perform other duties as needed

Rotating Schedule

Our clinic operates with two shifts: Shift A and Shift B. Staff will work on a rotating schedule, including every other weekend. Below is a sample schedule:
