Job summary

MainStreet Family Care in Augusta, GA is seeking Seasonal Medical Assistants for the October-to-February period to support urgent care, primary care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine services. This temporary role offers hands-on clinical experience during the busy cold and flu season.

Responsibilities include exam room prep, vital signs, patient histories, safe medication dispensing, recordkeeping, scheduling, and routine patient education.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Help produce and maintain patient education materials.
• Keep work and treatment areas clean and professional.

Responsibilities

Clinical Duties

• Prepare examination and treatment rooms with necessary instruments


• Take patient histories and vital signs


• Prepare patients for examination and treatment


• Dispense medication as directed


• Educate patients on discharge instructions, when applicable


• Handle telephone calls from clients, patients, physicians, pharmacies, and other staff


• Address patient concerns within the scope of the position

Clerical Duties

• Maintain patient records for clinical, medical, billing, and review purposes

Other Duties

Rotating Schedule

Our clinic operates with two shifts: Shift A and Shift B. Staff will work on a rotating schedule, including every other weekend. Below is a sample schedule:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills


• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.)


• Prior medical assisting experience or education is beneficial but not required


• Medical assisting cetification is not required.

Compensation

• Starting at $15 per hour
