Job summary

MainStreet Family Care in Valdosta, GA is seeking a Seasonal Medical Assistant to support urgent care and primary care during the October–February peak. This temporary position offers hands-on clinical exposure across clinical, clerical, and patient education tasks as part of a busy season.

You'll prepare exam rooms, take histories and vitals, assist with treatments, dispense medications as directed, manage calls, maintain records, and help with scheduling.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.).
• Prior medical assisting experience or education is beneficial but not required.
• Medical assisting certification is not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare examination and treatment rooms with necessary instruments.
• Take patient histories and vital signs.
• Prepare patients for examination and treatment.
• Dispense medication as directed.
• Educate patients on discharge instructions, when applicable.
• Handle telephone calls from clients, patients, physicians, pharmacies, and other staff.
• Maintain patient records for clinical, medical, billing, and review purposes.
• Assist with scheduling tests and treatments.
• Complete opening and closing procedures.
• Keep work and treatment areas clean and professional.
• Accept and handle special projects as assigned.
• Perform other duties as needed.
