Job summary

MainStreet Family Care in Jasper, GA seeks a Seasonal Medical Assistant to support urgent and primary care during the cold/flu season (October to February). Responsibilities include clinical tasks, clerical duties, and patient education, with a rotating schedule and every-other-weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
• Medical assisting experience or education beneficial but not required.
• Medical assisting certification not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare examination and treatment rooms with necessary instruments.
• Take patient histories and vital signs.
• Prepare patients for examination and treatment.
• Dispense medication as directed.
• Educate patients on discharge instructions when applicable.
• Handle calls from clients, patients, physicians, pharmacies and staff.
• Assist with scheduling tests and treatments.
• Complete opening and closing procedures.
• Maintain patient records for clinical, medical, billing and review purposes.
• Maintain supplies and assist with annual training as needed.
• Keep work areas clean and professional.
• Accept and handle special projects as assigned.
• Perform other duties as needed.
