Job summary

MainStreet Family Care in Ocala, FL seeks a Seasonal Medical Assistant to support urgent care, primary care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine during the cold and flu season (October–February).

You will perform clinical duties, take histories and vitals, prep exam rooms, dispense medications as directed, and educate patients. Clerical tasks include charting and scheduling; working rotating shifts including weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) helpful.
• Medical assisting experience or education is beneficial but not required.
• Medical assisting certification is not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare examination and treatment rooms with necessary instruments.
• Take patient histories and vital signs.
• Prepare patients for examination and treatment.
• Dispense medication as directed.
• Educate patients on discharge instructions, when applicable.
• Handle telephone calls from clients, patients, physicians, pharmacies, and other staff.
• Address patient concerns within the scope of the position.
• Maintain patient records for clinical, medical, billing, and review purposes.
• Assist with scheduling tests and treatments.
• Maintain disposable and non-disposable supplies.
• Assist with annual training as needed.
• Help produce and maintain patient education materials.
• Keep work and treatment areas clean and professional.
• Accept and handle special projects as assigned.
• Perform other duties as needed.

We are seeking enthusiastic and friendly Medical Assistants to provide excellent care to our patients during this busy period. Responsibilities:

Clinical Duties

Rotating Schedule:

Our clinic operates with two shifts: Shift A and Shift B. Staff will work on a rotating schedule, including every other weekend. Below is a sample schedule:

• Prior medical assisting experience or education is beneficial but not required
• Medical assisting cetification is not required.

Compensation:

• Starting at $15 per hour
