Job summary

MainStreet Family Care in Macclenny, FL is seeking Seasonal Medical Assistants for the busy cold and flu season (October–February). Join us to support urgent care, primary care, telemedicine and occupational medicine services.

You will perform clinical and clerical duties, manage patient flow, take histories and vitals, prepare rooms, and help educate patients. A high school diploma and familiarity with Microsoft Office are required; medical assisting experience is helpful but not required.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.).
• Prior medical assisting experience or education is beneficial but not required.
• Medical assisting certification is not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare examination and treatment rooms with necessary instruments.
• Take patient histories and vital signs.
• Prepare patients for examination and treatment.
• Dispense medication as directed.
• Educate patients on discharge instructions, when applicable.
• Handle telephone calls from clients, patients, physicians, pharmacies, and other staff.
• Address patient concerns within the scope of the position.
• Maintain patient records for clinical, medical, billing, and review purposes.
• Assist with scheduling tests and treatments.
• Complete opening and closing procedures.
• Maintain disposable and non-disposable supplies.
• Assist with annual training as needed.
• Help produce and maintain patient education materials.
• Keep work and treatment areas clean and professional.
• Accept and handle special projects as assigned.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Responsibilities

Clinical Duties

• Prepare examination and treatment rooms with necessary instruments
• Take patient histories and vital signs
• Prepare patients for examination and treatment
• Dispense medication as directed
• Educate patients on discharge instructions, when applicable
• Handle telephone calls from clients, patients, physicians, pharmacies, and other staff

Rotating Schedule

Our clinic operates with two shifts: Shift A and Shift B. Staff will work on a rotating schedule, including every other weekend. Below is a sample schedule:

Compensation
