Job summary

Kansas Traffic Safety Resource Office is seeking a Seasonal Facilities Maintenance worker in Kansas. The role involves upkeep of agency buildings, grounds, and equipment across multiple sites, with 20–40 hours per week.

Responsibilities include repairs, landscaping, vehicle upkeep coordination, safety procedures, and setting up spaces for meetings. On-site work with a focus on maintaining a safe and functional environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintains the facility's appearance by picking up trash and repairing/replacing broken items
• Works on structural repairs and/or remodeling projects in agency buildings
• Provides ground maintenance activities such as mowing lawns, trimming hedges, removing weeds, raking and disposal of leaves
• Reviews agency vehicles on a regular basis for necessary maintenance and assists with scheduling oil changes and car washes
• Completes general building upkeep tasks such as replacing light bulbs, switch and outlet cover plates, light globes, smoke alarm batteries, window screens, curtain rods, and heating/air filters
• Assists with large and long term cleaning projects
• Performs repair or general maintenance work of facilities, buildings, grounds, and equipment at various sites including electrical, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, glazier and painting tasks
• Repairs and treats structures such as showers, toilets, floors, sinks, walls, carpets and roofs
• Performs minor repairs, troubleshoots and adjusts locks on cabinets, doors, closets and desks
• Changes filters on ventilating, heating, and air conditioning units
• Moves and assists in transportation of furniture and equipment
• Sets up and breaks down cubicle partitions
• Sets up tables and chairs, etc. for meetings
• Creates a safe client environment by performing all required security and safety procedures
